The perfect time to start something is when everything else is in limbo, right? That’s what I used to think, but actually…
Ain’t that the truth.
That’s why I decided to publish my first post at a time during which I feel the most unsettled I’ve felt in a long time. To paint the picture for you, I’m sitting in a living room surrounded by a sea of boxes that I still need to unpack, some of which include some wedding gifts for which I still need to write thank-you notes, and I have yet to join a gym.
Three fun facts about me:
- I’m obsessed with order.
- I send thank-you notes immediately following a kind gesture.
- I crave exercising.
Guilty on all three counts.
This blog post very well may be a lesson in cutting myself some slack and feeding my soul. I’ve been daydreaming about and planning to launch this blog for a long time – since I had time to think about something more than how to keep my hamster wheel spinning. For reference, in just the past year, I got engaged to the most wonderful man, graduated with a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University while working full time, and became a certified Les Mills RPM instructor and health and fitness coach. More recently, I married that wonderful man after yours truly planned the entire wedding, and we moved from Arlington, Va., to Augusta, Ga. Did I mention that the wedding and move happened within the past few weeks?
Realizing that there’s never a good time to take on something new is what motivated me to stop daydreaming and planning and start doing. What are some things that you’ve been daydreaming about and planning for that you want to start doing? Feel free to leave a comment.
